Long Range Target System

Some questions have come up about the Long Range system. First, Long Range is a target management system that allows clubs to collect payment for targets thrown and capture information about target usage. Partridge Creek chose Long Range after reviewing other vendors and options, but ultimately chose Long Range as it offers a self-service kiosk which supports our clubs business model.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What if I lose my Long Range Card, Part II?
    • First and foremost don't lose it. Now that is out of the way, if you do lose it promptly contact on of the Directors. The card can be turned off while the search goes on. If it is not found a new card can be issued, but the value of card may take some time to determine. There will be a fee for a new card.
  • What if I have a small gathering of guest?

    • So lets say you want to 8 people to the club as your guest and shoot one of the venues. The most efficient and reasonable way is to work with the club's management and schedule this gathering. Once scheduled club staff or one of the directors can get some count up cards ready for your group to use. Once you are done shooting you can bring the cards back and a staff member or director can tallie up the cost for you to pay. Count up cards cannot be paid at the Long Range Kiosk so having a check is a must.
    • Second option is to find another member who would like to join in and have folks shoot off members cards. Granted this depends on the number of people involved in the gathering. Once done shooting simple have those guest add money back to your card or settle up between each other a different way.
  • How does a guest of mine shoot?

    • If you have a few friends of your join you at the club to shoot there is a simple way for them to enjoy the club.
      • First, guest need to pay the guest fee (or you pay it) fill out the form at the front desk and put the guest fee and form in a envelope and place in the silver box.
      • Second, have your guest put money on your card and go shoot, OR, check your balance, go shot and have your guest split the cost and add money back to your card.
  • Can we pay for golf carts with Long Range?

    • Yes, we plan on installing a Long Range card reader on the golf cart pavilion. There you will be able to just touch your Long Range card to the reader and it will deduct your cart fee from your card.
  • Will my voice release work with Long Range?

    • Yes, voice release will work on the skeet and trap fields. While it is not part of the initial setup, it will follow a week or two after initial roll out.
  • What does Long Range do that Promatic did not?

    • Long Range provides a credit card based self-service kiosk that allows members to add “cash” to their target card.

  • What is this cash card?

    • Just like Promatic, Long Range uses a plastic card as a means to throw targets. Our new Long Range cards will now hold the “cash” that you put on the card. One card will work for all venues at the club. You can use the kiosk to load more money onto the card when you are out of cash. Cards are reusable.

  • I have a prepaid Promatic Card with targets on them. Now what?

    • We will credit your Promatic target count to your new Long Range card when we issue cards. If you have Skeet/Trap coins, we will also credit the monetary value of those coins to your card.

  • I have 100 Skeet and Trap Coins. Now what?

    • You will receive the monetary value of the coins you purchase. Current skeet and trap fees of $3 will remain in effect until Long Range is completely installed. Once fully installed, the skeet and trap prices will increase to $4 as planned.

  • Can members use checks or cash to add targets?

    • Yes, but that requires a staff member to be present and update your card. To support this, we will set up limited times at the club when members can meet with a staff member to do this. You can carry up to $500 on your card at a time and always check how much is left at any card reader around the club.

  • If I do a workday, can I have my $150 credited to my target card?

    • Yes, this is the ideal method as it is quicker and more cost-effective for the club.

  • What if I lose my card?

    • Let's start with this: The card holds “cash" on it. It has value and needs to be treated like your credit card or the money in your wallet. It is the member's responsibility to maintain control of their card. To help with this, members will be provided with lanyards. There is no need to write your name on the card since the card can quickly be traced back to you if lost.

    • If a card is lost, replacing it will take time. We have to look at records to determine the value remaining on the card. After that, a new card will be made, and the member will incur a replacement fee.

  • How do I work the system?

    • When a card is issued to a member, training will be provided on how to use the system. Staff will also be trained on how to support members. Simply put, if you have pumped gas or use self-checkout at a store, you are all set.

  • When will Long Range be up and running?

    • Rob Dudley, the project lead, has planned to have Long Range up and running by Feb 1, 2025. Rolling out the system will be in phases. The notional plan is to set up 5-Stand first, then sporting clays. After those are up and running, the team will move to skeet and trap fields. High level schedule is above.
